Water Harvesting...
Friends I would like to raise an important issue of water conservation. As you are all well aware that in Faridabad there is no river or canal that supply the fresh water. How long can the government rely only on ground water. The rate at which we are drawing the ground water, can the day be far away when this source would also be finished. Than???? We can solve this problem by Harvesting the Rain Water. This involves some expenditure by which we could save the Rain water and channel to Ground, but believe me friends, if you are serious abt the future and our next generation this expenditure is nothing compared to it. If we can all install the Rain Water Harvesting system we could be rest assured that there would never ever be ANY SHORTAGE OF WATER in our CITY. Another alternate to delay the D-day is by completely stopping the wastage of Water. Which could be done by slowing the flow of water at Wash basins and using of Buckets instead of Shower/Bath Tubs for bathing and stopping all the leaking Taps in the House. I am sure all would give it a serious thought because it is for Our own and our Next Generation's future. more

We are moving in the right direction. Like Aruna ji, we should all take pledge not to waste even a single drop of water. Mohan ji's suggestion of using water from Washing machine is also a very good idea. Shivani ji also has gave an important idea abt not to throw water, if it is free from harmful chemicals. Another idea could be if any household has more than 2 ACs, the water coming out from ACs could also be used. Since it is not contaminated but only moisture of the room. All we could do now is spread this Important Message all around us and increase the number of citizens of this city so that ultimately this goal of 100% Rain Water Harvesting could be achieved. i also think that the best method for water harvesting is to use R.O. water,as if we collect it,in each day ,we can save a large amount of water,also I woujd like to add something that water and electricity are interrelated,we should save electricity also(not just because of our bills) but for our future and many a times,we waste water in the drains if we find it a little contaminated,friends don't do it as we should make a contructive use of it by watering it to plants,only if it is free from harmful chemicals.One more thing,if we have some of the taps loose in our homes,even only 1 drop is flowing then also we should repair it because if only one drop of water is leaking from a tap each second,then it wastes 1200 liters of water in one year.Just think about it. more

What I can suggest is that the practise we follow in our home for water conservation. The outlet water from the washing machine is collected in a tub and this water we later use for washing our court yards and if it is the water from rinsing cycle only then we use it for watering our plants too. more

Since we are all moving in the right direction. I have a suggestion, if all agree, we could share the methods used for saving the water. Like we have reduced the outflow from our taps at the Wash Basins, we try to use the waste water collected from RO system. We try to switch off the water pump immediately after the overhead tank gets full.... Please share your ideas so that we all could learn something on this good platform....Once again thanks for your support for this noble idea that is very important for all of us..... more
