Working of Municipalities/Corporations in our Cities.

Elected Municipal representatives are personally getting work done with respect to local cleanliness in the locality through the municipal staff.
The same request if directly given to the local municipality do not get executed or very difficult to get done.
Therefore today in major cases residents are complaining to the ward representative to get local work done.
The work is actually being carried out by the municipal staff but on the order/authority of the ward representative.

Thus the established system of municipality shall work only on the direction of the ward representative.

Is it a healthy situation?

How can the municipalities be made directly accountable? more

What is the purpose of Mann ki Baat? I read "The main purpose of the program is to "establish a dialogue with the citizens on issues of day-to-day governance", according to a statement by the Information and Broadcasting Minister in the Rajya Sabha in July 2021." Furthermore, I read the excerpts of Sri. Modi's addresses under the auspices of Mann ki Baat. They are excellent extolls to bring the citizens to one purpose, addressing the various issues faced by the people and the nation. Thus far, it has not addressed the shenanigans of the states, and how to correct them. This particular topic of Transforming India poses questions about local governments' functioning with corrupt interference from local and state politicians to the detriment of the people. I am not sure if Mann ki Baat can address it. Hoping so, but we cannot be sure. more

"Representatives personally get work done..." Good. 1. 1st rung of mngt/leadership shows/tends to commit. 2. It's good since it facilitates delegation. 3. Why encourage unnecessary centralization? 4. It would be better if affected citizens approach, deal & pressurize elected representatives directly and the latter respond in earnest; with accountability. 5. Teach seniors in mngt to delegate & have enough time, energy & peace to themselves to tackle/solve tasks/problems bigger & more difficult. more
If one is a government employee it means he has the right to take bribes. The whole system is completely rotten. Even another 100 Mr.Modis cannot change this rotted system more
