Will you go in for `corrected’ or `non-corrected’ myopia?
Many persons are myopic; some of these know about it and some don’t know about their short-coming.
There may well be some of them like the beautiful actor Bipasha Basu (who, according to the Times correspondent Priya Gupta – as reported in Times of India dated December 18, 2014 – is myopic to the tune of -3.50D) who don’t want to go in for glasses, contact lenses, or refractive surgery, and may well be brilliant (as myopes see well by bringing objects close to their eyes)...but, is it really wise to reuse distant correction and deny yourself enjoying the beauty of nature (and face hardships of daily life like not able to see the number of the bus on the road)?
Management options for a myopic person include (i) eye-catching spectacles with feather-light plastic lenses, (ii) comfortable disposable contact lenses, and (iii) dependable refractive surgery.
And, the choice of course is yours as to either remain a non-corrected myope (and face the hardshoips of not seeing distant objects well) or get your near-sightedness corrected (and lead a fuller life)!

Thanks to both of you. Wearing glasses for the correction of a refractive error helps you see better, avoid strain, and avoid wrinkles of your forehead that may appear due to constant effort to see better without glasses. And, there are eye-catching frames and light-weight good-quality plastic lenses...and of course the `invisible' contact lenses; refractive surgery is another good choice for those who are suitable candidates.

Dear Mr Kumar, I remember when I was in college I did not used either Glass nor contact lens as I felt that I would not look nice in them. After passing out of college when my eye sight was checked it was -5.00 in both the eyes. 3 years back when it was detected it was -1.50 and in 3 years gradually myopia increased to -5.00. I never felt any strain since my eyes where constantly adjusting to dropping myopia number. Also after that I started using glasses but it took 18 months more for my myopia number to stabilize at -7.00. The damage was done. It could have been averted had I used glasses / lens in time. I will not suggest any one not to wear Glasses / lens if they have any number. How ever doctor is the best judge.
