Why Swachha Bharat is not succeeding?

People who are putting in efforts for cleanliness neither get respect nor the right remuneration. Unless we promote dignity of labor in all the manual works India can not become a developed as well as clean nation. Question is; Who would like to opt for cleaning work? Only such a person who has no other opportunity for work. Therefore efforts need to be put in for facilitating all the manual work and also giving good remuneration. this happens to be so all over the world but not in India. Manual work is considered most inferior. In this backdrop suggestion should be given so that efforts could be put in for improving the scenario. more

In general, we do not understand the meanings of cleanliness. It is required to educate the common person ,in a similar fashion, as we are doing in schools. This will require, some one to take up social service and go deep and analyse do and no to do in society and educate the people. This can be done as voluntary service by some senior citizens, who in turn get education by some well knowledge able govt. agencies. more
The success of any scheme boils down to implementation.Swatch Bharat is no exception.Let us admit that we Indians take the cleanliness of our environment lightly. Those entrusted with the job of keeping the cities clean do not take it seriously.Citizens who are being continuously exhorted to keep their environs clean ignore the exhortation. No amount of incentivisation of good work delivers results in our country. The only language people understand is punishment for committing an offence. This should go hand in hand with reward for good work. more
I agree with my friends, however, what can be done is also not done properly. we people should take charge of our surroundings. secondly, I observed that sweeper sweeps the road and the whole garbage is piled up and then there is no one to collect it and slowly that again comes to road more
This has to be taken up as community service and not as a source of income by all residents. Then only we may be able to go ahead. If we just look at the cleanliness work to be done by someone else we may not end up any where. So let us start it in our own gali, neighbourhood by organising small group discussions and paving plan of action. I think we lack in the basics for such a drive and can be overcome through disucuusions and chalking out plan of action. more
Yes. you are right. How to take it up as a community service is a problem, in view of no definition of community service & and who should take the lead. more
