Why should Pension be Taxed?

The seniors or super seniors are put to hardships by deducting tax from their pension. Government must know how the poor and old manage their household with meagre amount. Quite frequent cases of children not taking care of their parents, upon that government also makes their lives miserable. Instead
it should help the seniors. more

The elected representatives are opting for the service of the Country, people and welfare of Nation. Hence their Bench mark attendance should be not less than 75%.Only then Continuity of the post else automatically stands vacated.Pension for 60% minimum of 3 terms. $ plus terms eligible for 100% pension. No other perks except medical insurance coverage say for a fixed amount.Pension taxable like any other citizens. more  
No tax on Income up to Rs 3,00,000 for Age 60-80 and No tax on Income up to Rs 5,00,000* for Age 80 & above. Hence lower income pensioners are not at all taxed. more  
There are many MLAs and MPs who hardly attend the Loksabha/Rajyasabha/Vidhan Sabha.Such people should be removed from these bodies,how so ever prominent they are/were in society.Govt should give a chance to those who are ready to contribute for these positions.Minimum attendance like say 50-70% must be clamped.They should be debarred from pension benefits. more  
Most of the country's it is treated as a normal income. more  
whether pension amount received is taxable in any other country ? Can anybody find out more
