Why do Policemen take bribe while passport verification in the police station and also do not give any receipt? Dear MODI sir, Kindly take a strict decision against this.

Incidentally, the Supreme court passed an order in the "Prakash Singh vs. Union of India" case way back in 2006, which provided (among other things) for freedom from political interference and stability of tenure of policemen. Till date not a single Indian state as far as I know has implemented the Supreme Court order. Incidentally, policing is a state subject and so the responsibility for police reforms lies with the individual states- there's little the Prime Minister can do about it.

Mr. Shekhar the problem starts right from the top. The police department is heavily politicised. Worse still, politicians take bribes from candidates to be posted in the police force. As a result the guys who get inducted into the police force first have to recover the investment that went into getting the job. True, appointments to the IPS are merit based, but its a completely different story in the state services where the vast majority of the police force comes from.
