‘Truth about Hair Colours?’

All chemical hair colours contain PPD (p-phenylenediamine), ammonia and/or resorcinol. Some may have more ammonia and PPD which may result in scalp burning and hair fall even in a few months usage while some others may have less of these, which makes them a little milder. Ultimately all chemical hair dyes will result in hair fall, a burnt or sensitive scalp, damaged, brittle and dry hair.
Hair Colours that claim to be Ammonia-free contain Ethanolamine and Resorcinol. These do the same work that Ammonia does, though there are no burning fumes or smell as in Ammonia. So people get easily misled into believing that they are using something milder or safer!
BEWARE OF HENNA COLOURS!! Manufacturers mix henna with other chemical dyes such as PPD without mentioning these additives on the label of Henna packages and these may show similar toxic side effects. PPD is mixed with natural henna to give it an ebony colour (black henna) instead of the orange/reddish colour given by natural henna.

I agree with Mr. Jayant Ogale to accept ageing process & not to go against the Nature. Should you find a natural way of arresting the growth of grey hair without any complications, it is a welcome move. more

There are vegetable dyes without chemicals but I do not know if they contain the chemicals. I will check when I visit the store next. more
