Traveler Oriented Coach Design - Inputs Needed
Dear Railway Circle Members:
As discussed in some of the recent posts, the design of next generation coaches need to incorporate key areas like Cleanliness, Safety/Security, Toilets, Amenities, Revenue Generation activity like physical/digital advertising, etc.
With this post, we seek your inputs on the key elements needed in the next generation coach of Indian Railways.
Also, if you have more detailed ideas or even the design of a coach in mind, do share that as a comment or even as a new post (if attachments are to be shared)
This is an important subject which will help make coaches more citizen oriented than engineering oriented, so do share your views.

current reservation after train departed should be made available in the coming station by displaying on digital display

Electronic displays should be used for Advertising and information regarding next stations and giving indication to which side of the coach the platform will be. At the same time other Railways related information can be provided to passengers. There should be garbage bins installed in 2nd Sleeper coach also. Maximum amount of garbage is thrown on tracks from Sleeper and General coaches through windows. AC couches should not be connected with Sleeper coaches because many times passengers from Sleeper coaches use Toilets of AC coaches use all liquid soap and make the toilets extremely dirty. Some times they occupy space near exit to enjoy some cool air from compartment and make it difficult for genuine passenger to move around.

POH (Periodical Overhauling) is to be done once in a year as done earlier to solve many problems in the coaches.

Scrolling electronic displays are to be provided in coaches to display advertisement. It will yield revenue to railways.
