No credit card can offer free travel insurance. If it is given by any credit card, the cost of travel insurance will be inbuilt in subscription/renewal fees depending upon coverage of inland or abroad travel. more
If the visit is within Asia you have very attractive rate . If you have International credit card then for medical emergency you can use it and make payment when you are back in India. more
I am fully agree with Ms.Sunita P clarifications about the risk covered by Insurance companies. The insured should go through the detailed terms and conditions of policy documents and can be downloaded from the insurance company's website. more
Insurance is to protect aganist "unknuown risk or happening". If that is there in the true sense the insurance company also indemnifies or pay that expenses with in the coverage limit. If the people feel all known disesses, from what ever may be the cause, to raise the issue with IRAD for suitable loading of the premium. Even in this conservative premium the population taking policy is small compared to 120 crores population. IF every one takes the policy from day one to every family member, i think the policy can do wonders. If the % of people coverd in age brackets will reveal the truth. more
In insurance cost of potential loss is transferred to other entity in exchange for monetary compensation known as the premium. It is the responsibility of the insurer to know well what he is buying. He should check what he wants and what he gets. Why insurer will bear Risk of pre-existing diseases? Please take time to know your insurance terms and conditions. If you are not well aware of the product you are frustrated or feel duped when any unpleasant event happen in transit. We cannot say we have not read it. Ignorance is not a excuse. Don't go after cheap or free. Buy what you want and pay for it. more
