If its a diesel vehicle and more than 15 years old, the transport dept will visit you soon and impound your vehicle which will then be scrapped by MSTC. They have started from south delhi already. Better to go to a different state and atleast sell the vehicle. more

Sheela ji & other Members, Unfortunately, we as common citizens do not live in our own country and we do not follow even the news. Government of India has already issued the law in respect of Diesel Vehicles after the order issued by Supreme Court on the matter. Diesel vehicles are not allowed after 10 years of life irrespective of condition of car/vehicle. We all are surprised to see this post. Government has still not cleared a law in respect of petrol cars/vehicles according to supreme court order. Petrol cars can be allowed even after 15 years if these comply with specified statndards in respect of pollution and road worthiness. In the mean time National Green Tribunal (NGT) has issued the notification specifying the rules on methodology to scarp the diesel vehicles if these have attained 10 years of life irrespective of condition. Petrol cars/vehicles older than 15 years are not supposed to be plying on roads and not to be parked in public places. Scrapping method of petrol vehicles is defined but not made compulsory. I presume that NGT has taken undue advantage in the absence of Law from Government of India in regard to petrol vehicles/cars. I fail to understand why Transport Department of GoI is not coming out with clear sensible law that should permit the vehicles to ply on roads if technically fit. Government has no right to create undue economic liability on the citizens if their personal vehicles are in good condition and possess technical fitness. But we are unfortunate citizens of our own country called Bharat (India) that has followed the great culture since long where our present day governments have been unable to protect the rights of citizens by reducing undesired financial liabilities in their living needs. We all have to unite and jointly fight for our rights otherwise we are no where and capitalism will crush us to an extent beyond recovery. more
