Traffic chaos due to Traffic Police inactiveness
Feel the difference in traffic while coming from Delhi, simply because in Delhi Traffic police is strict while in NOIDA it is inactive. Hardly bothers if anybody is flouting traffic norms, simply spectators to them. Simply by making them strict, it is felt that , the traffic can be streamlined. Shared tempos & private buses are real nuisance, parking anywhere on the road, making undesired turns, breaking traffic rules & honking continuously. Traffic police being strict with them or anybody else will solve much of the traffic chaos.

Besides this, some immediate token fine should be there on honking of horns, the life has been made horrible for persons residing in roadside societies

Traffic near Sector 37, Noida crossing is a good examplae of traffic chaos when Traffic Police is active and when it is looking the other way. Yes the Police has its own problems and should be looked into by its bosses but with all said and done, the traffic has to be regularized.

There are at least three spots where every morning there is pile up because of mismanagement by traffic police:
1. merging traffic at DND clover leaf going towards Greater Noida and traffic coming from Mayur Vihar end, after sector 15A. It is probably better to not have a police stopping traffic here.
2. MCD Toll at DND. Why could the toll point not be shifted to DND booths is beyond understanding and every morning there is a man made chaos here.
3. Merging traffic before Ashram crossing - DND side traffic and traffic coming from Serai Kale khan side. The traffic signal does not balance the density of traffic.
If any traffic officer were to look at google map to assess the intensity of traffic it could very easily and accurately be balanced for an improved flow. It goes without saying that these bottlenecks have resulted from poor road design and poor planning, but proper management could improve the situation .

Every vehicle on the streets of UP is flouting traffic norms. Every single one. It's not just autowalas and cycle rickshaws. So called educated people with fancy cars think nothing of breaking laws. If the police were to take action, they would probably have to penalize 99% of people who are driving! There needs to be serious thought on this issue with inputs from citizens and police personnel on how this can be tackled.
