The State of Tamilnadu and its people

The state of Tamilnadu is in a very cloudy and difficult situation. The people of Tamilnadu are simply penalised for having caste their votes, probably not knowing the crude consequences of their act of loyalty.

1.There is no dedicated Governor for this State. Is it that Governor posts are not required any more?
Why there should be only an acting Governor when there are so many personalities are available for appointment.Even the present Governor could be made permanent for Tamilnadu. Welcome.

2.The post of Tamilnadu Chief Minister has become a mockery. Can any one be a CM?Even for a job , applicants are required to qualify in eligibility tests. But, here a person with no administrative experience, knowledge , professional excellence or even basic communication skills aspiring to be CM , and a set of inner circles proposing, seconding and finalising!

3.The Judiciary and Election authority again and again reiterate that no one with blemishing records or accused/ convicted in corruption and criminal cases should apply to Election Commission. WHAT About The present incumbent? So many cases of the like.

At this rate even God cannot save Tamilnadu.

Central Govt MUST take immediate action to stop such bad practices. more

Yah! The point is in spite of so many precedence no one did anything except perhaps preaching and leaving some comments here and there. more
I agree with Mr S Narayanan! As per the constitution, there is nothing mentioned of experience so lets leave the experience part aside. In any case the democracy that we practice is based on an arrangement where the political bosses have to be in sync with the public which is determined by elections (direct or indirect). They are not required to posses administrative skills. For administrative skills (as per the directives of political bosses), there are very well trained arms of the govt like the civil services, IPS and defence services etc. to assist them. The worrying part is how can the MLAs be held captive? How can a convict be CM aspirant? Why the elected MLAs are supporting a convict? Doesnt it indicate their support for corruption? Why did our people elect such MLAs who support convict and corruption? Finally it all boils down to why do we choose people who are not worthy????? We get what we deserve! I feel we as a population are gullible lot who have lost our capacity to think freely and independently and mostly we are swayed by so called waves and opinions created through various forms of media, including the social media. The entire population gets affiliated to one party or other and start defending actions of that party. As a common citizen, why should we be affiliated with any party? We must remain independent of party politics because only then we can take independent and fair decision on our vote. more
Yes. The question is not of experience, but the manner and ‘methodology’ adopted – a convict becoming a CM aspirant, ‘forcing’ the CM she supported hitherto to resign, and holding the legislators captive to prove their support to her. Some may have willfully lent their support, and some others under coercion or duress. Which is the party and where it happens is not what matters. What matters is the state of our democracy, polity and the ‘quality’ of legislators we elect! On 16 February 2017 at 07:22, Jaggannadhan Rangarajan < support@localcirclesmail.com> wrote: > more
The happenings in Tamil Nadu is not unique and a lot of bad precedents have already taken place elsewhere in our country,Rajiv Gandhi who had no experience, became the Prime Minister.Rabri Devi became the chief minister without any qualification.Madhu khoda , who won as an independent MLA became the CM,when there were others. Most of the political parties have politics, as the family business. As Ramachandra Guha , rightly said ours is only an election only democracy.with no intrinsic values. more
