The role of mafia in the market place

The role of mafia in the market place

All of us as common citizens are actually un-aware of the organised mafia, the behind-the-screen players, in the market place. In most cases, they control what we buy, where and for how much. The good examples are a) Weekly markets, hawkers and street vendors b) Taxi, cab and private transport services c) Parking lots d) services in industrial area

It is not about pricing alone, there are plenty of other issues which are directly linked to the mafia control
1. Adulteration in foods, fruits, vegetables and branded products
2. Major inconvenience and harassments to the common citizen as a buying experience
3. Local Governance problems
4. Generation of black money and its use for illegal activities
5. Scope for increased crimes
6. Deprive of level-playing environment for all in the markets. Only certain groups are dominating in specific trades in marked territories

I feel, the loop holes in the governing laws are exploited by the greedy people to manipulate the system. They know the law, they have relations in government departments and they are good in social engineering

Is there a way out to empower common citizens to take on such bad social elements? more

REAL ESTATE BUSINESS INCREASINGLY COVERING ALL THE TOWNS AND CITIES AROUND LETTING HUGE EXTENTS OF LAYOUTS DRY AND USELESS SINCE ALL THERE ARE ONLY PROPERTY CARE UNITS RATHER THAN RESIDENTIAL HELP BEING USED FOR CREATION / STORAGE OF BLACK MONEY AND STAGNATION OF AVOIDED TAX AND BUSINESS WEALTH. THERE IS ABSOLUTE NEED OF IMPOSING THE CONDITION OF RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION ORIENTED LAYOUTS THUS ARRESTING UNTIMELY CONVERSION BESIDES KEEPING THE HUGE EXTENT LANDS IDLE AND DRY INB AND AROUND ALL THE TOWNS AND CITIES. more
Real Estate Regulatory Bill is a very good step. But should ensure that the Regulator himself should not go corrupt. Along with ensuring 100% payment through banks only, all big denomination notes should be removed from circulation. more
