THE NEED OF THE HOUR ENCOUNTER COVID AND BEYOND FOR FUTURE PREPAREDNESS:
There should be increase in the Bed Capacity in India to meet the present situation . Towards this motivate Private Nursing Homes to offer Isolation Beds , and be prepared to treat cases when we are not able to Race with the KOVID -19 .
INDIA DID HAVE PLAN TO SET UP 160 VIRUS TESTING LABS FROM THE 52 LABS IN INDIA WAY BACK IN MAY 2016 . Good foresight .Just now Tamilnadu had started one increasing the number in the state to 3.
When we take a look at the attachments , the Distribution in the states don’t seem to be sufficient serve effectively at times of Epidemic or Pandemic.
The distribution of infected , identified cases are there only in 14 states & UTs. The states that have crossed the single digit mark are , Kerala, Maharashtra , Haryana, U.P.
Kerala has 5 Testing Labs (MEMBERS MAY REMEMBER NIPAH VIRUS OF 2018 KERALA THOUGH A SMALL STATE HANDLED IT WELL TO CONTAIN THE OUT BREAK – THANKS TO THE NUMBER OF TESTING LABS AND INVOLVED WORK ),
Maharashtra2, U.P. The most populous state 3, Haryana just one .
As a result of this the states will Depend heavily on the Labs of the neighbouring States putting lot of pressure on them .
SO INDIA SHOULD QUICKLY TRY AND SET THE ALREADY DECIDED NUMBER OF LABS IN INDIA , THAT IS 160 FOR THE FUTURE HEALTH , IDENTIFICATION AND PREVENTION OF THE EPIDEMICS AND PANDEMICS TO TROUBLE US.
As per news coming in, increasing of virus testing labs all over the country is already put in motion and the capacity has since been increased to some extent. Increasing of hospital beds for treatment of the virus infected patients including increased number of ventilator is also in motion in various states and positive results are coming in on these issues as well.

Thanks for the present state of infrastructure in India at present. However, GOI is doing great job in increasing the numbers of test labs and treatment centres to meet emergencies.

No doubt , Testing Centers need qualified doctors and Technicians ep qualified experts & technicians . It is a stupendous task to meet the Sudden demands of the COVID -19 outbreak . Yet a beginning should be made at leat now for the future outbreaks . Traing of Technitcians should start at least now . India has has so many nurses , Lab Technician training institutes . On a war footing some have to be given with special incentives.. M.B.B.S. degrees are the basic one to go further up i the medical education. One may remember the several Diploma and Certificate courses , offered during the early 20th Century . THAT WAS THE TIME INDIA WAS INFLICTED WITH , CHOLERA , MALARIA, INFLUENZA . T.B. AND LEPROSY WAS ALSO THERE . That was the time very few Indian Doctors and qualified Nurses were there . The British WENT ON WAR FOOTING LITERALLY MANUFACTURING DOCTORS WITH L.M.PS, L.I.MS ,JUST 2 YEAR COURSES AND CERTIFICATE COURSES TO TRAIN UP BAREFOOT DOCTORS IN THE VILLAGES . Later on these doctors became so adept and established themselves. Later on they were allowed to upgrade their Licentiates and Diplomas to GCIMS AND MBBS. THIS SORT OF PRACTICE WHICH IS TIME TESTED CAN BE STARTED NOW WITH LAB TECHNICIANS , BURSES .
