Thank you very much for the invite to be part of this historic and insightful “Transform India with Narendra Modi” group.

I am sure that hearing from the public sector will only bring much needed input from the people that if utilized properly can only bring positive change for India as a whole.

There are many issues facing any country in this modern world which need to be addressed by strong and decisive leadership based on informed decision making.

Many of these issues have been constructively petitioned by this group so far which can only be a huge step forward in positive change for India and is a healthy sign for the future development of this wonderful land and its people.

a) My personal interest is the protection of the Holy Sites [Dhams] of India in particular Śrī Vṛndāvan Dham. To this end I will look into developing a ‘circle’ to see how the national government can develop the area with a keen view to keeping to the spiritual standards of our wonderful spiritual culture.

b) Second would be to look to the education of our children for as we all know they are our future hope. Some salient issues that need addressing would be:

1. Look to the urban migration of our youth by addressing the education curriculum and syllabus which is predominately urban in orientation as opposed to being rural in orientation. A rural based education system for rural areas would mean children are educated to value the rural life and seek employment in the rural sector as opposed to migrating to the towns and cities where there is major unemployment. Urban migration also breaks up the family unit by separating the children from their extended families and leaving them bereft of a sound support system.

2. Even though our educational system is secular in orientation there is a need to see an educational ‘package’ which addresses religious education based on religious values etc that provides a balanced childhood education for our children. The modern system is primarily academic in orientation and employment orientated which is only half of a child’s early development.

3. A ‘positive work ethic’ is also a necessity for a child’s education which should begin at primary school where a child should learn how and why they should value the end product of their endeavors. The productivity of any business is dependent on not only good leadership by competent managers but also the workers valuing their end product and working towards improving their end product. Therefore this should also be an integral part of teacher training.


c) In reference to point 1. In part A above… a rural education system for rural area will encourage individuals and families to stay on the land and make the land productive. All over the globe rural land is lying fallow for want of families to make them productive. Families and individuals migrate to urban areas with the hope of employment which in many cases is not forthcoming. The country begins to lose its knowledge base on agriculture and agricultural based family businesses and begins to rely on large scale farming and/or international importation of produce/foodstuff. Some solution ideas:

1. As mentioned above – rural based education designed at small family business farms and cottage industries.

2. The above point should also be offered in urban centers to allow for rural migration.


3. National and/or State Government and/or Large Business ‘grants in aid’ or low interest loans for family farming/cottage industries. These can be linked into the school education – employer process to aid in the smooth transition of graduates into obtaining a grant or low interest loan.

4. Apprenticeships – The apprenticeship system should be introduced or reintroduced where school leavers may enter into a supervised State or National Government or Private Sector apprenticeship system that assures a school leaver of employment after completion of the apprenticeship.

d) Corruption is a major problem in many countries the world over and India is no stranger to corruption. Unless corruption on all levels is addressed by strong leadership and decisive and appropriate punitive measures then we cannot expect this wonderful country to grow and develop in a timely fashion. Any Government must address the issue of corruption if they are to have any positive impact on the people of the country.

1. Child educative programs are vital in instilling a proper value system and acculturating it not only into our children but into our teachers, principals and educational institutions. For details please refer to 2 & 3 of point b) above.

2. Anti corruption must be addressed at all levels in order for it to be truly effective, which means from the politicians / religious leaders / legal justice system down to the police and local religious priests and service industries etc. There must be zero tolerance of corruption especially in the leaders of our communities - local state and national levels. Therefore investigative measures both internal and external must be implemented and judiciary boards/courts etc granted not only powers but also strict guidelines under which to operate to make sure corrupt individuals are brought to justice.



Please forgive any inaccuracies or lack in my succinct and somewhat hasty presentation, I understand that I have only covered a small aspect of the issues expressed in this project and I look forward to reading and learning more from others as this group grows and matures.
