1. Factories cause a lot of pollution
2. Factories do not follow cleanliness and hygiene standards
3. There are not enough dustbins in most factories
4. Shopkeepers throw waste outside on roads
5. Shops just have a small dustbin which over flows most of the times
6. Many factories do not have any provision of managing the toxic gases that they generate
7. Many shops generate a large amount of packaging waste which is thrown on roads
8. These bins are usually emptied in the streets
9. There is a lack of adequate number of public toilets in industrial area for workshops and small factories
10. Most markets do not have functional public toilets.

Having paid the swechha Brarat cess the responsibility now lies with the government in enforcement of the disciplines. Public still willing to co-operate.

Factories or shops. It is failure on part of municipal sanitory inspectors . They do not impose fine but these white elephants are fed with good hygenic food. These do not have the guts to take action and only small and weak shopkeepers are challaned. This is a main cause. If this activity is outsourced to firms ,then with half the salary being paid to the municipsl staff ,we can maintain good cleanliness. 1. Factories and shops do not have proper washrooms. Those that are there are in a disgusting condition. stinking and unclean, leading to infections. Women do not have separate wash rooms. Basic hygiene and sanitary and bio degradable dustbins should be provided for women. 2. Factories are emitting illegal and dangerous chemicals into rivers and lakes. 3. Factories do not have running water supply and a lot of them have illegal water connections. 4. Employees in both factories and shops are not provided all their benefits. They are sometimes not even shown on the books as employees just to ensure they do not get their benefits. 5. Labour officials regularly take bribes to look the other way. All labour related administrative matters should be brought online and all registered companies should be carefully monitored and automated as far as possible. 6. Employee salaries whether employee or part time, daily wage labour or outsourced workforce should have all salaries paid directly into bank accounts. 7. PF should be made mandatory for all labour receiving a salary. 8. Accident insurance should be mandatory for all labour - regular or temporary. 9. Labour policies should be simplified and regular communication sent to management on labour updates and general information. 10. Factories should have designated smoking zones 11. Women should have a rest room or a mothers room segregated/ 12. Skill upgrade training should be mandated and hygiene classes should be made mandatory 13. Places with toxic chemicals or gases should have breathing apparatus and other required equipment to ensure the safety of the employees. 14. CCTV cover should be mandated in all locations. 15. Women's security should be high priority. Women working late should be provided transport facility. Female security should be in places where women workers are employed.
