Standards for guarded security services
We have had multiple security services in our society and there is literally no common standards followed by them. Everyone reinvents the wheel. There is a need for consumer bureaus to develop common standards for such services. Otherwise ppl keep relying on tribal knowledge with little knowledge transfer. Hope some people here atleast agree with me. more

Security guards should be hired from well known agencies. Who give proper training to them. more

Security Watchman in Housing Societies is an area which needs a total revamp/improvement.Normally the uneducated/semilitrate persons from villages or small towns of Undeveloped states are migrating to Mumbai and do this job.Agencies do not train them much.Many a times they lack basic training for Security Functions. more

As long as haired security personnel are employed as security, one can expect very little from them. The reason is > The security personnel is not looked after by his employer. > If any pone tries to instruct him, he will listen, but he may not act, because, he lacks skill or training. > Mostly, elderly people are employed, who don't have any exposure, but, for their lively hood, they work as security. > These personnel don't stick to one agency, as they get more openings else where with little difference. Ms. Nair......Its really nice of you to have raised this issue. Please be informed that there are Rules and Regulations to register a Private Security Agencies which is one time process. After that there checks by of the Regulatory Authorities. Hence it has become the most disorganized sector in the field. Sorry to state but most the Agencies are run by the Retd. Defence or Para Military Personnel's or by the Police personnel as a side business. Normally they pick up people who have migrated from States or who are unable to do any mental or physical work. Most of all they should be prepared to work for Rs. 8000.00 or max. Rs. 10000.00 in 12 hrs of shift. These organisations even charges for the uniform given to them. These organisations charges Rs 16000.00 to 18000.00 per person from CGHS or any Company and give meager amount to their employees. Attrition level is too high of these Security Guards. Best Security Agency is Group 4 Securitas. They only employ Ex-Service men but charges huge for their services. more
