Standards for drinking glasses
I want to know if BIS is having standards for drinking glasses (the one made of glass)
Several companies are making extremely thin and fragile glasses that can break just with the pressure of the lips. This is extremely dangerous for adults as well as children. The glass could go inside the mouth or hurt.
Please advise.

In my over eighty-two years of life and living in umpteen countries of the world, I've yet to come across a drinking tumbler or cup, made of glass, that was manufactured sooooooo thin that it broke under the pressure of the lips that sought to savour the liquid inside..... It may not be a bad idea to pull some reigns on this flight of imagination.....! Hope you understand.....

All products are manufactured for different types of uses. When you are aware that the glass is thin and is going to break at slight pressure what is the compulsion for you to buy such a glass for your children ? Tumblers / utensils made of glass (of nay thickness) are anyways harmful (and not recommended) for children and elderly people as they are delicate and slippery. They break after slipping from hand if not held with proper grip. Can break / develop cracks if hit on the table with slight force (habits of children). Broken glass pieces are very harmful for everybody as it can leave nasty cuts and very small pieces can get embedded in flesh (if one accidently steps on it or presses by hand during clean).

agree with mr anil sharma - why does anyone want to buy such glasses to begin with ?
