SONY Products.

Recently I had a terrible experience with Sony.. as they claim it is the best and costliest TV brand in India so why does one invests in sony...? obviously to get the best quality, trouble free services and long life. in any budget what you get from sony you can get a much much bigger TV from any other brand.
I bought a Sony bravia TV 18 months back
and recently I noticed a vertical line appeared on the LED screen, which was getting broader day by day. I reported this to Sony and they told me if its under warranty I need to pay only for repair charges. Their engineer visited after 5 days of the complain and confirmed that the problem I reported is true and he charges Rs. 225.00 as visiting charges (amazing)....!! after 10 days of his visit I get a call that the panel is out of stock we will replace it with a model of similar price value which I agreed to. For this I need to pay the difference price (surprising for their faulty product, I need to pay..!!!) fine I said ok as there was no option left for me. Next I was told to pay Rs. 350.00 as pick and dropping charges and the service centre is just 8 kms away from my home (Surprising...as if it was my fault), I said ok, I was asked to deposit a DD for Rs 1350.00 to their service center and so I went there with the DD where they asked me to sign an indemnity bond which I did. Now when I asked them the delivery time frame they answered rudely where I had to react so I did. Now they are asking Rs. 750.00 as dropping charges. I am sharing this with you all so that you know what best brand means. I am waiting at the moment for their next move as I am prepared to communicate with Sony India CEO who sits at Delhi in person or by any other means. BEWARE before you invest. more

Don't be polite and be very strict while dealing with sony service centre, particularly one at Preet vihar... try to communicate more on papers rather than phone. more
Sony "Quality" is only pretence. They always leave some bugs in every product of theirs, and fleece you for service, spare parts and quite often claim that this model is obsolete. I have had this problem in 2 of their TVs, a Handycam (Rs 65000), my Sony Ericsson phone and my Viao laptop. Believe it or not, One tiny rubber pad under the laptop costs Rs 150 at their dealer, and anyway falls off (just one of the obvious examples). I have completely stopped buying any Sony product about 2 years back. more
OOCHI DUKAN PHIKA PAKWAN. AFTER SALE SERVICE IS TALK OF YESTERDAY. FAULTS WERE NIL IN THE PAST BECAUSE OF THEIR QUALITY AND REPUTATION. PAWN- YOU ARE VERY CORRECT AND THANK YOU FO SHARING AND ALERTING THE CIRCLE MEMBERS. VIRMANI JE AND RAJESH'S VALUABLE GUIDANCE IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE. more
I have been writing on Facebook also and then only they reacted quickly. Just looking forward for their next move but in any case I will share it with Sony's CEO. anyways Thanks fo your valuable suggestions, it will help me a lots and make others also aware of this. My larger concern is that in the capital of India where people are so much aware of consumer rights in the heart of political capital if this is the way they are dealing with a customer then what would be they doing in smaller towns or places. more
Dear Mr. Rajesh Singh, While tagging is one of the solution, however, if the consumer is compelled and have no other option but to seek alternate remedies, then tagging may not be supportive documentary evidence in the consumer forum. more
