Should you shake the salt?

Although salt has been thought to be a cause of hypertension, this may only be the case for a small percentage of people who are considered to be salt sensitive.

People who cut back on dairy products to reduce sodium, actually raised their blood pressure.

This may have been due to a reduction in calcium intake, a nutrient needed to maintain normal blood pressure. more

In reference to Mr. Vinod Sahni - common salt is NaCl only. But you have to go deep into the process. In fact - NaCl - purest form made in lab is not suitable for human consumption. It is the impurities or you may call other minor minerals that makes it fit for human consumption. One more information - pure NaCl does not absorb water as do our common salt. This is due to traces of Ca / Mg salts. Even pure - H2O, our water can not be used for drinking purpose. It is highly corrosive, that means you can not use your metallic pipes / taps etc. It is non conductor of heat / electricity. In fact it is the gift of nature - minor ingredients makes lot of difference. more
COMMON SALT IS SODIUM CHLORIDE. IT LOOKS WHITE, BUT HAS NO CALCIUM. ANOTHER VARIANT OF SALT i.e. POTASSIUM CHLORIDE CAN BE TRIED WITH MODERATION AND DUE CHECKING WITH PATH TESTS. more

Mr. Sukhpal Grewal. Yes milk of right quality is beneficial for all groups. But right temperature of intake is also very important. Cold form of milk (milk shake, ice cream etc.) has no nutritious value. Similarly milk with other additives has no proven scientific data except as claimed by the producer it self. SO REMEMBER IF YOU WANT TO TAKE MILK FOR HEALTH PURPOSE IT SHOULD BE SLIGHTLY ABOVE BODY TEMPERATURE. YOU CAN ADD SUGAR OR ITS OTHER FORMS - PERHAPS ALL OTHER ADDITIVES HAS NO MEDICAL BENEFIT. more
