Senior citizens should get lower berth. If not possible, then there should be a special coach for senior citizens in which they do not have to climb.

@Anand Mahajan, this option of getting a lower berth for senior citizens while doing booking online is there, but unfortunately it does not work because of EQ and Tatkal scheme. Sometimes it is pathetic to see how senior citizens, especially ladies, climbing on to their allotted berths, while youth co passengers dont give a damn! My suggestion is Railway TTE should intervene and reallocate seats based on the age group.

I think this problem can be solved by giving option to public while doing booking / net booking . Screen should show available birth position and it depends on person to choose birth among available.
