Yes they can contribute much to the society. But there should be a association for every locality which they should represent and they should have a direct approach to the corporation leadership on civic issues. It will help if all the associations register to a network site as we are doing now and all the issues to be tagged to issue tracker by the municipality or corporation leadership

All the 12 points look practical and can be followed easily. Particularly point no 8 which says that senior citizens should be role models. The same should be said of the legislators , commissioners and authorities of all Municipal corporations. They must segregate the garbage at source ,that is at home, see that the littering is stopped by the public in their locality . Have ferequent meeting with learned and experienced people to get ideas to implement ways and means to keep India clean.

Yes selection of suitable to be entrusted to the SDGM who is the Chief Vigilance Officers of the Railways. Four or-five teams to be appointed with necessary RPF staff and conduct surprise/preventive checks and report the matter. Initially teams in regard to the safety/amenities etc. of the passengers to be taken up without any loss of time so that the objective behind the earnest efforts evinced by the Ministry will become a futile exercise.
