SELECTION OF DUST BINS , LOCATION & BUNCHING :

I am making a request to the authorities , the volunteers and interested citizens. For some reasons the authorities bunch 3 huge dust bins for the whole street as seen in the picture .
It may be convenient for the lorries picking up the Garbage for one stop pick up. The idea of clearing Garbage is to prevent pests , Rodents and cattle rummaging and making the scene more unhygienic .

Now this practice of bunching huge Dust Bins will lead to,
* One locality becoming the dump-yard for all and sundry as we see in the picture ; there seems to be more garbage on the road than inside .
* Imagine the plight of the residents living close by who have to bear the brunt of all the garbage from the residents of the street .
* People have seen cows and dogs around the bins during day time and Rodents during night .
* The passers by are encouraged to relieve themselves for the natures calls.

Why not keep the bins at different location and also on rotation . KEEPING ON ROTATION WILL MAKE EVERY ONE ON THE STREET TO REALIZE THAT THE gARBAGE HAS TO BE PLACED INSIDE THE BIN AND NOT THROWN AROUND CAUSING HEALTH HAZARDS.

This is taken 6th Main Road , anna nagar , Chennai . There have been worse scenes after rain and when not cleared regularly .It also happens to be one one side of the Tower park , the prestigious one for Anna nagar . more

The design of the dust bin need to change and need to user friendly. Periodical clearance to monitored . We can create app or develop a system to alarm that the dust bins not cleared or intimating concerned that concern have to take action. Also develop a system to indicate the user generating waste follow procedure or not. Educating waste generators on regular basis is important more
The large dust bin should be in an enclosed area. The problem is the dust bins are kept open from all sides. The dust bins should be cleared twice a day, once before the dawn & second time before the dusk. The problem is the rubbish which falls out of the bin,no one picks up.It lies there only. more
One of the solutions for bins in the crowded area is that Kachara should be cleared more frequently. This will prevent over flowing of Kachara and will keep the area clean.City will look NICE. more
To a great extent, you are right. But the problem is largely with the rag or waste pickers who spilling it over. It is also because of the space problem that these bins cannot be positioned at different locations because the residents close to their residents. Further, the number of bins at the locations is also not sufficient as would be seen in the photograph, and the scene is the same at every dumping yard. The solution is in quick replacement of the bins by the trucks and cleaning up the site. more
Disposing off at the city outskirts is not the right solution . Again there are people living , why should some other be punished to by the city / posh area dwellers trash . Bio degradable can go in for compost in each area . The other particularly Plastic disposal is the major responsibility of the administration / Government . No doubt , the citizens also should co operate in reducing the plastic usage . OTHERWISE WE WILL LEAVE BEHIND HEAPS AND HEAPS OF PLASTIC FOR THE NEXT GENERATION. more
