Scrapping not the ok for ordinary citizens

Scrapping commercial vehicles is fine but forcing ordinary citizens who have bought a four wheeler after lots of effort cannot be asked to scrap their vehicle and buy a new one. It also not ok to apply this rule for retired people where is the money? Looks like policy makers have lost ability to think rationally!! Politicians swindle every where so they don’t see dearth of money even after quitting assembly or parliament more

Yes, forcing ordinary citizens who have bought a four wheeler for private use, after lots of effort cannot be asked to scrap their vehicle and buy a new one. more
After retirement, senior citizens have to go mostly to local shopping centres for daily needs. They should be allowed to use their old car for this limited purpose subject the car being in a fit condition. more
For a senior citizen who hardly runs the vehicle a mileage criteria should be used. Say 20000 kms or 15 years which ever is earlier. In fact for senior citizens they should be allowed to keep the four wheeler for 20 years before scrapping it .An yearly fitness check can be instituted after 15 years . more
Formalising a sector through a policy on scrapping, would be good for a sector that has been till now, largely informal. Let us remember that high grade scrap would yield good quality steel to be used in manufacturing equipment and automobiles, thereby also helping cost reduction. How? Because metals from mined ores, the traditional way, require intensive energy, that would be saved when we have some metal in pristine condition obtained through scrappage. Energy and resource saving. more
