Saving tree

A neighbour is planning to chop down a fully grown tree. They are thinking of writing to appropriate authority on the ground that tree roots causing seepage and bringing ants. In this day and age trees produce oxygen, save us from pollution and house birds. Can something be done to save the tree? more

Please consult relevant local authorities on how to proceed..... more
You have not indicated your place but in all major towns one needs written permission from the Forrest Officer and any chopping without written permission will result in punitive action. more
If they are really bent on chopping down a fully grown tree, then we must write to authorities that permission must be granted if the person plants 4 new trees at appropriate location around the house, in lieu of the one tree that is chopped down more
