Reducing VIP culture

Reducing VIP Culture in India - Following are my comments.

1. Except for the President, Prime Minister, Governors and Chief Ministers of states, armed forces service chiefs, no one should be granted VIP status - Correct and should be abided
2. The word VIP should be removed from tens of thousands entrances, doors, lounges and entry gates - Correct
3. Use of the red and blue beacons should be restricted - Yes
4. Roads should not be closed for more than 10 minutes for a VIP movement - Yes
5. The international travel plans of the VIPs should be scrutinized - Yes, should be approved by the next level authority
6. Family members of VIPs should not be allowed on official tours with them - Yes
7. The VIP quota in Railways should be trimmed and should be usable only in case of emergency - Yes
8. Aircraft and train departures must never be delayed due to VIPs - Yes
9. The idolising of bureaucrats and ministers should be stopped - Yes
10. Government should not try to satisfy the ego of the VIPs by giving them these privileges; it should be based on needs - Yes
11. Some privileges should be withdrawn for the VIP culture to diminish - Yes
12. The darshan procedure at religious places should be equal for everyone - Yes
13. VIPs should not be considered to be above the law – they should be tried like a common man - Yes, this is very important to implement
14. No free frills for VIP. They should foot the bill and claim from the respective department, which should have the budget - Yes
15. The number of people getting Z level security should be reduced.- Only President, Prime Minister, Governors and Chief Ministers of states, armed forces service chiefs and NOBODYELSE. more

This is not restricted to high profile people. Even the relatives/friends of class IV/V employees in big govt hospitals get VIP entry to Doctor's room whereas hundreds of other patients are waiting for their turn for hours. Even their registration and payments are done from back door. There should not be any VIP passes in religious places as before God all are equal. more
Why anyone. This culture must go altogether. Is anyone doing any favour to the nation ??? When any society is formed, people from all walks of life, with all sorts of talents and abilities get together for COMMON WELL BEING COMMON GROWTH & COMMON PROGRESS, therefore where is the question of bestowing the tag of VIP on anyone ??? Everyone needs to contribute as per their abilities, because, Firstly, Everyone President downwards is getting paid for the work he puts in. Secondly, people join any job voluntarily, no one forces them to take up thew said job. Thirdly, everyone gets only one life and there is no fool proof way to authenticate the contribution of any individual since contributions are based on the Exposure or chances that one gets. Hence the VIP culture must be scrapped altogether as is the case in Scandinavian countries like Sweden and the culture of Social Welfare for all above above the age of 65 years must come in. more
