Railways Corruption Examples
In my view, the issue of corruption needs to be addressed as all other issues gets addressed automatically if the issue of corruption gets addressed.
1. The corruption at procurement wing, quality control inspection, tendering, pre-qualification etc.
2. The corruption at cargo booking office and release of the material to the consignee. Even though the material is received, the clerk says consignment has not been received. No demurrage be imposed if the consignment has been received and the clerk has written on the consignee slip of not haviing received the consignment. CCTV installation in the booking office and godown is the need.
3. The corruption prevailing if someone want to take his bike as personnel baggage.
4. Corruption in transporting of vehicles.
5. Contractual Staff being engaged illegally for working at officials residences.
6. TTEs getting bribed for unauthorised travel in reserved coaches.
7. Poor quality of the food is the possibility out of quality control department

Maximum transparency is the only solution. 1. CCTV cameras at suitable locations 2. Correct and updated Tariff details as electronic display before entrance to the counter of the booking counter 3. Tracking of packages and SMS facility on receipt at destination and the counting of time form the receipt of SMS by the consignee.

I fully endorse the concept "the issue of corruption needs to be addressed as all other issues gets addressed automatically". It is true, NOT only for Railways but all departments involved in PUBLIC SERVICES as well day to day activity of every citizen in our social life.

Is it of any use to talk all about corruption at this forum if nothing is acted upon. I have shared an event and it is repeated on arrival of a new batch and this activity is the exposer to corruption for a new trainee. Another new batch is expected to arrive very soon and I hope that same process will be repeated and if some agency takes a action then the process will be brought to full stop at least at this center. is there any one?

Not Possible in India when people and Government servants are most dishonest.

India has got a good ranking in corruption. Railway is also a part of it. The internal administration is lacking. Only God can help.
