QUICK RESPONSE FROM AVIATION MINISTRY TO CUSTOMER's COMPLAINTS :

There have been several posts regarding the unethical web check in fee by 2 Airlines that starts from Rs.100 to anywhere to Rs. 600 . These requests and complaints of the public to stop the greedy habit seem to have been heard and noticed by the Aviation Ministry . Thanks for the appeals from Circle Members.

You may also would have heard from a resource post that wanted the consumers to unite together and stand against the practice .

This is a good Lesson to the Profiteers and and the unhealthy practices adopted. - CONSUMER IS THE BOSS more

Even cancellation charges must be rationalised.When it is peak season and flights are going almost full cancellation charges can be maxm 5% of the fare. more  
Some broad guidelines on fares should be issued, as the fare chart by airlines are very much eratic. more

Every activity needed by an individual ticket holder to perform air journey comfortably and quickly must be included in the ticket fare charged and needs to be clearly laid down by the regulatory body so that all these cheap tricks towards profiteering by 'breaking up an activity' are closed once for all. If such practices are tolerated then tomorrow there will be extra charges for travelling with clothes on as they add to weight or even tilting ones seat or calling for attention of air hostess etc. will be charged. The restaurants may declare their cost of item and then start charging extra for plates. Declare the cost upfront including all essential and inescapable activities as well as those that are needed to perform a comfortable journey or close down the business the airlines must be told. The govt must take over the business if they can't run it. more
