Proposed Fare Increase
Our problem is that we want everything world- class without being able to pay for the same. The Railways under Hon Minister Piyush Goyal Ji has really transformed for good this most important public transport mode which I have never seen happening since my childhood. I am 62 now.
We should be ready to pay for the enhanced services.
For comparison you have to pay Rs 3000 for a journey of 250 Km in Europe or Far east ( China, Korea and Japan etc) but Indian Railways's maximum fare is about Rs 500 only. more

Fare increasr is all right but what about corruption in Board and babus. Why pasenger shou;ld pay for corruption. Why thsi Government is not taking any action against chor haffttakhor goonde characterless babus who have sold ebevry thing of Railway. more

AAP batayenge Pichhle 5 saal mein har ek sphere mein mehngai, employees salary, DA and other allownces kitne badhe hai. Aur railway fares badhe nahin hain. railway facilities kitni improve hui hain. par aapke mutabik kiraye nahin badhne chahiye balki ghatne chahiye. Kya yeh badha hua kiraye, Piyush goel, PM MODI ya BJP Ki jeb mein jaayega. Hum log siraf mufatkhoris aur subsidies ke aadi ho gaye hain. Improvement may not be 100% for you and it cannot be ever. Ek improvement hoti hai, hamari aspirations badhti hai. Agar ek cheej hamari liking ki nahi hui to hum use pakad kar baith jaate hain aur baaki improvements ko taak per rakh dete hain.Hume apna outlook change karna padega more

Your comment praising Railway minister is politically biased. We have not seen anything special during his tenure except for running private trains and increasing fees. Fare increase may be nominal and required but charging hidden fees like Convenience fee for online ticket is ridiculous!! while the PM advocating for digital India and online ticketing decreases manpower requirement drastically. With that every other online transaction in bank/other govt portals should be charged. And please don't compare railway ticket charges in developed countries with India. What's their par capita income in Indian rupees?? Our Railway 2T/!st AC tickets are most of the time costlier than even Airfare. more
