Profteering off the farmers
Had one of my uncles who is a farmer in andhra visit me yesterday.
The price at which he sells mango is 10 rupees a kg. Big basket sells same mango for 110 rupees a kg.
So much so for being fair to the farmer.
Can the Govt do something about this? more

That is why Modi wants the farmers to be able to sell their produce anywhere and not be restricted to Mandi-who squeeze them. But farmers do not understand more

Middle man eats the profit. I think former groups are required to protect their rights. But those groups are not allowed by politicians, to protect their political interests. Voters also forget everything and support caste and religious leaders. When the income and bank accounts are linked to ADHAR why not expenditure for medical and education also linked to ADHAR more

Best, dear Ms Anshu, would be for you to let members know of the contact particulars of this farmer, assist him in marketing his product by taking orders and arranging that deliveries are punctual. Let him charge 30, 40 or even 50 rupees per kg. That way it would help both the farmer and well as the consumer..........the middlemen would be eliminated. This system is being followed by others too in selling their apples straight from their farms. The same could be applied to help your farmer uncle. more
