Hi All, We all are fully aware of the issues with the Pvt. & Govt. Hospital. Considering our current system, we have little hope to get better medical facilities at a reasonable rate. To solve this issue, we should take some initiative like opening a charitable trust which runs clinics/health centre/diagnostic labs etc. and provide healthcare services at a reasonable cost. I am ready to support this initiative whole heartedly. Please do let me know who all are interested in this noble cause. I stay in D4 and would be keen to discuss further on this with all of you. Why hospital room charges should be allowed too high i.e nect to neck with some hotel room charges. Here it is the question of recovering and there it is recreation. We have allowed to mix and match. IRDA should fix a limit on Room charges of all TPAs. more

If you do a survey in few big and famous hospitals by taking data on business by their doctors and their total remuneration in that year, You may find some correlation of their remuneration with business through them and high differential in remuneration of doctors with almost same qualifications and experience. Of course the money in no.2 given to the doctors can not be taken into account, which also forms an important part, yet this correlation can be found. Can govt. or its departments including Income Tax Department take some penal action based on it so that forcing the doctors to increase revenue through them for their remuneration can be discouraged and poor & helpless patients are saved from prolonged treatment, unnecessary tests and costly medicines. The doctors/hospitals should be forced by law to prescribe some minimum percentage of generic medicines by value to the patients and these generic medicines are kept for selling in their own private medical stores within or near hospital campus. more

The only thing govt needs to do is - STOP CORPORATE LIKE THINKING BY PRIVATE HOSPITALS. Majority of the doctors working in these hospitals are good but are forced to work for profit oriented thinking. The doctors get peanuts but the rest of money goes to managment. CHEMIST SHOP INSIDE THE HOSPITAL,CANTEEN, COFFEE SHOP AND EVEN LABS HAVE BEEN OUTSOURCED GENERATING a lot of revenue. But doctors do not get a share. Let these hospitals be run like pvt schools on no profit and no loss basis. if govt is serious - LET THE DELHI GOVT TAKEOVER ONE OF THESE PVT HOSPITALS - Doctors from Govt hospitals be deputed to these hospitals ( Whose salary will come from Govt ) and paramedical staff ,security and all other work to be by the hospital managment. Get an audit after one year to see - how the govt can provide affordable and best quality care. If the doctor is not assured a minimum fixed salary - how can he work fairly. He has to generate revenue otherwise he will be fired. He may be very intelligent and caring but he may not be a good businessman. In this era all the basic services including water and justice has been turned into a purchasable commodity? Why to blame the profession? Even IAS officers are not being spared ,they are paying the price of being honest.You can take the horse to the water but you can not make him drink!. So if the doctor is payed - Let there be a law - that all the private hospitals have to pay a salary as per minimum scale to be decided by Govt on the pattern of PVT schools who are paying as per pay comission recommendations. No doctor to be kept on revenue geneartion model the things will improve more
