Postal services, from sec 56 Post office

Postal services in Gurgaon, Sec-55.56

I would like to mention that, My family shifted to Gurgaon a few years back, now living in sec 55 here and we never depend on the postal services here at all.

I would like to mention just 2 instances, a foreign friend sent me a cheque of some amount, which was received just 15 months after date of sending, while cheques are valid for 3 months only.

Another example our family got our Adhaar cards prepared, out of the 4 Adhaar cards we got issued, only one was physically received at our home. I can that exactly may be the percentage of post actually delivered.

All the inputs good resident friends have shared on the P&T issues, let me add my bit after living here for 19 years. We have had only 2 good, honest postmen who did the delivery service s, all these years. At different festival times i have thanked them via sincere gifts (and not via any corrupting options). In any case we depend upon Courier service agencies or the GOI's Speedpost -- much more expensive but these are the dependable ones. The P&T standards of the olden days have disappeared, really speaking. Many of my friends here in Gurugram (UN retirees) receive the UN aerogramme anytime between end-Oct till end Feb. /early March. There are times, nothing is recd. We find other methods through our organisation/s HQs (on Lodhi Rd.) & send our notes for receiving our forthcoming pensions in the following 12 months. We do not depend on the P&T -- which as it is, is running at a major loss for 2 decades if not more...! Over the years we have being dgot used to NOT to depend on our postal services -- takes time. But all friends, as many of us will get used to it all ! Please do not use the same ordinary service for important documents or cheques, etc. A few years ago it was also reported in the press how postal bags were being burnt by a postman or two..., has also come to pass here in our millennium City. So please be warned and not depend on your ordinary letters. Shared with a sense of civic loyalty to our other co-residents here. I stay in Vipul Greens, on the Sohna Road, and serviced by the South City II Post Office. We shifted to Gurgaon more than 3 years back. My experience with the postal delivery service is far from satisfactory. I took up the matter with the Director (Posts), Gurgaon Circle, several times. The service would improve for a few days and that was all. I have realized that it all depends on the sincerity of the postman. During the past 3 years, the service became normal only when a postman by the name of Rakesh was posted to our beat. We started getting even ordinary letters on our door step. He remained on the duties of our beat for about 8 months. With his transfer, it is back to square one. Now, only Speed Post letters are being delivered. Sunil Chopra more

Even in our Sector-57, Gurgaon, we get speed post letters delivered & found in letter box without getting any acknowledgement after 5-7 days of their despatch. The ordinary letters and magazines etc I have never received for the last 7 years. more

Naturally it depends on how sincerely the staff and particularly the postman serving you does his duty, but I think there should be some checking/feedback system for it. more
