PM cuts personal staff by 50%, will ministries follow

Happy New Year 2020 friends. I have some good news.

The PM has cut his staff by 50% in last 6 months. From a little over 50, the number of his personal staff has now been reduced to 25. Personal staff at the PM’s residence-cum-office include peons and clerical staff.

This is not all. Also there has been a more than 15 per cent overall reduction in the staff strength at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

LocalCircles had started discussion on optimising ministries. Its need of the hour. Over time many ministries have been created to massage egos of some politicians who wanted to be a minister and Govt of the day accomodated them.

Let the reengineering begin from 2020! more

I have been trying to bring to the PM's attention the fact that results finally matter, which of course he too practices. But, I feel he still is short of competent people to deliver the effective results on the key schemes and help in selecting or scanning the priority areas. Many good initiatives like Skill development, Swachchh Bharat, Make in India, Entrepreneurship Assistance, Infrastructure, GST, SMART city, Namami Gange etc. are not able to revolutionize the scene in India just due to lack of competent in-charges. Reducing human resources is never a remedy, utilizing their potential is! more
Accommodating the politicians in ministries or in other position having ministerial status to make them happy is not a new trend and has been the practice of the governments in office since beginning though their necessity and utility had always been under question. Since our present prime minister has set an example by himself in the line of "charity begins at home", let us hope that other ministers as well as elected leaders will follow the suit in the coming future to save the nations precious resources to the maximum extent. more
PM has set a fine example to be followed by his ministers. Will they ? In fact PM must enforce this. nonetheless the excess staff must be deployed some other departments which are short staffed. lest unemployment will grow. From railways to every other government department must prune their staff and effectively deploy the excess staff elsewhere. Similarly, 6 passes awarded annually to permanent staff of the railways must be curtailed to 2 a year saving lot to exchequer. Similarly various other non-monetary amenities given to government servants must be pruned so that lot of savings can be made. more
Why well paid railway staff be gven free passes.
Are the employees of revenue departments exempted
from paying GST/Income-tax ? The buden of freebies
is passed on to other passengers/citizens. more
Like ministry even public utilities and institutions and services are overstaffed. This has big burden as non plan expenditure. Such control is welcome but should be applied everywhere. Besides free benefits should also be curtailed. The one man works, we should all support and strengthen his hands. more
Most of the Ministers have no personal commitment to the interest of the country, but committed to encash and enrich their existing benefits. more
