Its irritating when this happens, and its happening often. Pharma packaging needs to ensure that the expiry date is visible till the last tablet is consumed. Just a matter of changing the placement of the print more

I hv been marking expiry date with perm marker pen on both ends of the tablet side. This way whichever side one starts using the expiry date on other end is visible. More often it is difficult to read expiry date except with a magnifying glass. So this is the practical solution i hv devised and suggest people may try. Though companies must print not only the expiry date but if possible per tablet rate since now a days they forcibly sell you 15 tabs or 25 tab packagings and it is often dificcult to comapre cost in different brands. more
India be pharmacy of the world produces about 60% of global vaccines needs better packaging standards. more
FDA equivalent Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation(CDSCO)under Directorate General of Health Services,Ministry of Health here, although the America's Food and Drug Administration has an India office. India allows over-the-counter medication purchase, prescription drugs included. Nutraceuticals now, another category. High time more responsible packaging, displaying expiry date many times, developed. more
So far information gathered, expiry date of a particular medicine is its expiry date of license for marketing. If medicines are getting dusted or melted within strip or strip is getting discoloured or something is floating in the ampule, that medicine should be immediately disposed of, even the expiry date printed on it is not over. Otherwise the same may be used for long time. Bad quality of medicines may be spoiled before expiry date printed on it. If expiry date is 31st January, does it mean it will be expired on the very next day 1st February? more
Why not use the tablet which has the expiry date at the very end? Believe me pharmacy companies do take care to make sure it is printed legibly. Also what do you wish to do when people buy only part of the strip? more
