Panic Buying happening in Mumbai

Panic buying of essentials in my parents colony. Huge lines, crowds swelled up by the minute as the PM announced nationwide 21 days lockdown..it kind a resembles lines at the atm the night demon was announced.

How will supply of essentials work? Will there be curfew relaxation hours or essential stores will remain open. more

Yes, such sudden announcement always invites panic as we don't have the adequate back up system to have a smooth run of our day to day life. I am not sure how it will impact on social life? But certainly it does not indicate a wise approach. Slowly people may get unrest. more
Yes, panic buying is happening in spite of government assurances and it is natural. more
I do not support panic buying but am unable to trust govt assurances either. Despite the govt saying essentials will not be affected, our supplies of milk, veg/fruit and groceries have stopped.

The online vendors say they are not to permitted to move out and deliver, we as senior citizens are not allowed to step out of the house (neither do we want to due to high risk at our age).

In such a scenario how can we help ourselves if the govt will not help?

What is our CM doing to address such issues!

Unless basic needs are provided, people will not stay indoors for long, defeating the purpose of the lockdown! more
We Indians will never be changed nor ever give up our selfishness even under a national threat as we are facing now. While the prime minister was declaring the lock down of the entire nation last night, he very clearly mentioned that the chain of supply of essential commodities will be ensured and there will be no dearth thereof in any area during the period. But a section of our society do never think of others nor rely on the promise of the government. They are concerned only with their own interests. Such people learn lessons only of their own. more
when a sudden announcement is made, those who have no required quantity of essentials at least for 3/4 days to tide over are bound to rush and it is only natural. more
What's your say on the following v file attachment? more
