OROP

I had a request to all our soldiers who are in service or rather retired from service that they should be satisfied with the present pension and benefits what they are getting nowadays. Their pension is linked to DA. At the same time they should think about the fate of quite a large other old aged citizens who are not even getting any pension for their survival and also those people who are retired from Government undertaking who are not getting any pension etc. for their survival. If they are real patriotic they should think about the same and then resort to other cause of action. more

Harindran, people like you cry for help from Military when all other fail you. Like true ungrateful countrymen show your back when it comes to their dues. Leave aside birth right like ORoP, even the 4th pay commission declared in 1986 have not been paid to the armed forces. Shame on people like you who dilute the cause of the only patriotic institution in this Nation. more
Mr. Harindran, You are speaking from the comfort of advocacy life minting money on whether assigned work is done or not. You should be put to work in the defence service for 6 months of your comfortable life to know the risks and hardship of life in military. MPs and MLAs are drawing handsome pensions even if they don't work for complete 5 years. Why don't you and the likes and MPs and MLAs contribute for pensions of retired government undertaking employees? Do you know the payment a soldier got when they joined the force in the past? My salary was less than Rs. 40/- when I joined Indian Navy in 1968. Do you know our working hours? 24 hrs. A day apart from a limited sleeping hours which was also considered duty. You never know the tensions and the physical strain one undergo during peace time, let alone the emergency. more
Now, will this "Local Circle" STOP comparing SOLDIERS with any other service/job/individual etc.,they are Class-apart and deserve to be RESPECTED/HONORED...Anybody making comment on Soldiers/OROP should - First Join this Elite Defense Services on PURE MERIT (NOT POLICE/PARA MILITARY/HOME GUARD/TA etc.) and SERVE HONESTLY FOR MORE THAN A DECADE...than you may speak, otherwise, refrain from making stupid out-of-place comments...Please! more
