ONE MORE VALUABLE REFORM IN RAILWAYS :
After the news that the Emergency quota will be reduced from 60,000 , and the stop to 30,000 Dak Khalasis paid by railways in officials' homes , this is another one towards reforms and better Days.
Police to travel with tickets . No doubt police on duty taking prisoners to courts ,commuting for their work in Uniform is justifiable . But they have to produce valid ticket , Travel authority or season pass. Hitherto they were just showing their police identity or orally say police . Now a system is being evolved so that no one can pose as V.I.P. [the culture starts from the lowest cadres in some Departments].
We presume there will be many such to follow like,
*Limiting the Free passes and other travel benefits and to the Railway employees and Retirees # ,
*Full Coach / Saloon cars to General Manager or Railway Minister alone .
*Restrict the entourage with officials .
After all 70 years back there were 535 Princely states ruled by Kings , Princes. All the kingdom were annexed to Indian Union after Independence . In 1969, their Privy purses were stopped completely . They had to be like an Indian citizen to earn their own comforts.
But Railways had taken a little longer time to realize and bring the Babus down to earth. I hope these are the beginning . We , the law abiding citizen have our role also to play in this process.
# Many may remember that this facility is being extended to ex –Railway ministers also . It is not just for the minister or the spouse ,but to all the children and their spouses. This was a facility Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav fought for.

If being the Local Circle members we can continue to effectively participate and contribute our views and suggestions on various prevailing burning issues, the government will be bound to take notice thereof and initiate proactive actions. Let's continue our efforts. Jai Hind

If they are honestly serving the public on ride for the safety and security they should be issued the railway passes with their ID. I find eventually they become part of the racket ( of TCs and attendents with thieves ) the to earn the money.

It will be only news. Who will dare to question them? All TTEs need their protection. I could not find any police on duty during my up and down journey (Hyderabad to New Delhi and return) on 23 Oct 2017 and 27 Oct 2017. Only vigilance at different stages are required. we have to be electronic system dependent, then only we can reduce the bad practices. Railway employees can travel whole year with a valid pass, which is mint for once in quarter. There must be will power to implement the rules and process.

I remember a joke heard when i was in school days. Two dogs boarded a bus. Only one dog took ticket other didn't take. Why ? Because that is a police dog
