old and retired persons.

retired and old persons are taken as burden by society and govt machinery.its the reflection of modern culture which all have to face with time.how much bank interest rate is for retired, only0.50% more.while all know that he survives on interest only. shame on such system.scandals of lacs of crores continue to happen, but senior citizens are a burden.surprised to seewhen i was travelling from jaipur to delhi this month that rajasthan stategovt transport has given subsidy in bus fares for at least women. more

I am also Senior Citizen, since many years. I don't expect any concession from anybody for any purposes. Though my community was declared OBC, I had never approached for any certification and worked with high head in Govt. Service in a very senior post and asked my children to never ask for any reservation quota for education or job, but develop career based on merit & open competition. But I found that in Karnataka KSRTC & Bangalore City BMTC buses, they take reduced fare for Senior Citizens for both in AC & Non-AC buses. In West Bengal, I have not seen similar concession in WBTC. Peoples from other states can inform us better. Time has come, that all the quota should be abolished immediately, which was funnily introduced for only 10-years. more
Eventhough it is hard to digest, this is a fact that senior citizen is looked down as a burden to the society. There is also no rule/guarantee that if an educated person becomes a politician that he would look into the matter.. it is a matter of consideration who comes to power..not only canara bank..any nationalised bank treats senior citizens the same way..the culture has to evolve .. and it cannot be imbibed..compassion towards fellow human beings..that to senior citizens should be taught by each parent to their siblings..then only society changes.. more
whenever i visit canara bank to withdraw interest from my deposits of PF amount I recieved from my employer it so happens the present employees of the Canara Bank are rude and refuse to comply with requests which they are bound to answer. even for a fresh pass book or updation or to avail changes as per my request the answer is always no ot later which is disgusting. I am sure they also will reach this stage one day and they are bound to get the same kind of treatment they render to us. if some in this group is from canara bank take up this matter officically thru your circle so that the staff learn to behave in a better way to the senior citizens. more
It is true because we are choosing the law makers who are criminals , not proper educated ,they are making us fools on their manifesto.they are not feeling any shame to forget promises. Senior citizens condition not so good in our country. Government must think towards seniors welfare. more
i fully agree with you and we have to blame ourselves for this. When we vote we need to raise our voice and give it to the right people. All the politicians if you see have hardly passed sslc and when their upbringing is like that how can you expect these kind of people to do anything for anybody. They are more interested in making money so that the next 5 generations of them can live happily. We need to have something like a minimum qualification for people to contest. When an education minister is a class 5 or 7 th std person then think of the state of the people in the country. One should be ashamed for electing those people. more
