Need for a policy to control Population Growth

Many debate whether population explosion in India is a boon or a curse. We have 17.5 percent of the world population .We will surpass China by 2025 to get the title of most populous.We have growth rate of 1.41% while world average is 1.17 %.

We are lucky that 65% of our population is below 35. We will remain lucky for some more time- by the year 2020 , average age of an Indian population will be 29 years, while of Japanese will be 48 years.

But the big question we are missing while celebrating the fact that we are young , is whether we are able to provide meaningful employment to them, is not the infrastructure already overstrained, are we able to sustain the lifestyle demands of the new population. NO , NOT AT ALL.

Ask a Delhi Govt School Teacher whether she is imparting any meaningful education to a class of 90 students sitting in room meant for 40.

Or ask a commuter who daily tries to squeeze into a local train from Dadar to Virar at Morning rush hour.

Our future generations will really curse us if we do not work on the ROOT CAUSE OF ALL OUR MISERIES.

It is about time we realize that we have far exceeded the carrying capacity of the land.

Let us a have white paper on measure to control population. We have to have a national policy to check growth ,which is uniform for all citizens (without any religious considerations) more

This is very ticklish issue to be handled very carefully and cautiously. Constant, Continuous and persuasive approach in creating awareness in the minds of citizens about this serious issue will solve this on long term basis. May be to start with, hence forth penal provisions can be envisaged for couple having more than 2 children, removing subsidies etc. Incentive to parents with one child. more  
It is high time to implement Population Control. More then 2 children will be discouraged and they will be barred from any subsidies or benefits. Govt. shld initiate action immediately. more  
For ten years incentive to be given to one child parents, no incentive or penalty for two children parents and penalty for having more than two children. more  
2 or 3 is the justified policy please. more  
It will be wise to bring the population within control. At present it is 1.2% and our slogan should be "we are two and our is one". But equally there should be control over other communal group, whose average is much higher. more  
Plantation is the solution but we need regular drive but not like Govt. & department executing now a days , My suggestion is Cooperation or Participation of Local citizen should be crafted in the Scheme, the implementation steps should be:- 1- Govt. /departments role is to identify the place & arrangement of plants free of cost. 2- Local citizens specially Students & Senior Citizens should be deployed for roping & careing the plants on Payment basis for minimum 1 years. or One project apart with the Project as per Course requirement is given to all students registered in any Graduate Courses to rope & care of 10 plants, for which monthly nominal payment may be allowed to them but Graduation Certificate only be awarded after handing over 10 plants in live condition more
