The problem is because of the GoI not prescribing the GST/CGST Tax Invoice for the retailers through the offices of the States' Department of Trade & Taxes besides linking the retailers' computers with the Central Point at the Department. The MRP is the maximum a retailer can charge, and it includes all forms of taxes for the Centre and the States. The discount is on the MRP. The GST/CGST has to be charged on the discounted price which becomes "MRP" (after deducting the discount value). The retail trade is not following this system, and rather charge GST on the MRP and then give the discount. This anomaly is because the GST/CGST periodical returns are filed on the basis of turnover instead of the basis of retail tax invoice a copy of which must go to the Department of Trade and Taxes online simultaneously. more

GST department is mute spectator. The best way to approach Consumer court in addition to complain to Ministry of Consumer Affairs at toll free number and email. more

consumer should fight for their rights and not to stop purchasing online but rather teach them lesson through consumer court. more
