mr tej kaul

Sri Tej kaul, I think you are a person either working in/ retired from either government services,/mncs/ highly paid software companies etc. That is the reason you are thinking that the senior citizens of this country are greedy/not satisfied with what they have got.
I request you to kinldy look to the people who are retired from small companies, muncipalities, shops , cooperative banks, etc. These people have not spent their life happily. They atleast need some social security at their fag end days. many companies, shops retrench these people once the managements feel that they are not doing the service properly. For these people, the pleading for medical insurance, a fairly minimum rate of interest on their deposits at least for a period of say 10 years (not fluctuating very frequently at the whims and fancies of the great babus in RBI or Government) more

It is a must for all elderly persons to have a decent life. It should be done from villages upwards and reach cities at the end. This is not a must for persons getting more than 25,000 per year from their investments. First let us start from there and then move upwards. more
Yes, there is need to institute schemes offering little more interest rates to their fixed deposits for senior citizens for their day to day expenditures. The falling interest rates is really serious cause of concern, which rich persons like present Finance Minister could never realize. RBI Governor should also be practical in his policy thinking. By reducing interest rates, he may be favouring some industry circle, but impacting a major chunk of retired and pension based persons. more
