Move back from ecommerce to tax evading traders

It is sad to see that the Govt is stopping ecommerce sites from doing business so they can promote local traders or retailers.

Let me open your eyes to whats been my experience. For all our household supplies earlier we would go to lajpat nagar, delhi once or twice a month. These traders sell everything from paper towel to toilet cleaners and everything in between and then give a kachha bill. Their prices are 20% below MRP and hence many many people buy from them. They dont pay any taxes. Inspectors are in their back pocket. We used to feel guilty but were compelled to buy from them.

Last 1 year we started buying everything from them from ecommerce sites. Stuff came within 48 hours. Taxes were not evaded, we got good prices, all because of efficiencies.

The Govt has stopped ecommerce I see products of Amazon pantry showing unavailable which means they want us to go back to these tax evading traders.

So isnt Govt itself not directing ppl to evade taxes. Regressive!! more

I have no experience whether it is totally stopped or not? No doubt, there are a no. of complains from customers of various spectra, regarding the inflated price of the product, cheating the customers, not responding to refund and many more. So why one should advocate blindly for E commerce. Govt. has framed guidelines to improve service to customers only, not to ban the business. more
All government policies irrespective of the party in power are for the benefit of the Ambanis. One of the biggest beneficiaries of the new ecom policy change is going to be Reliance Retail, not your street corner trader. They are doomed anyway. more
Some of the comments indicating that the ecommerce has been banned from those sellers where e- market has investment in the brands. I hope I have understood correctly. Under which Act, I cannot sell my own brand product by e-transactions. Say I am manufacturer of Samsung brand. I can sell it through local traders as well as sell it online by having my own website. Where is the competition now. Am I prevented to sell my brand product online where I have invested my money. more
