Minimum EPF pension.

The newly elected government promises pension of 3000 for the farmers and shop-keepers on attaining 60 years of age. But, it fails in its duty of paying at least such a minimum pension to the EPF pensioners, who contributed to the EPF every month while they were employees of the private organizations. The pension fixed at the time of retirement is never increased throughout the life of the pensioners. It is pathetic that there are EPF pensioners who draw just a few hundreds only as a pension. The government should understand the plight of the EPF pensioners and assure at least a minimum pension of Rs 10000 per month irrespective of the length of service and contribution. The opposition party MPs must raise this issue in the parliament to draw the attention of the government to this issue. When the general public is offered 3000 per month without any contribution, the EPF pensioners are entitled to better treatment. The government should not run after vote bank only without considering the logical demand of the EPF pensioners. more

I support Dr. Rajendran Thanfavel proposal. Govt. should consider it in coming Budget. more
The proposal made by Dr Rajendran Thangavel is logical and real concern where the Babus have overlooked. These are People who submit the proposal to the Ministers etc. Therefore there is a need to project this aspect in a proper forum. Even the EPF contributors are also consist of vote bank. There is a slip up in the projection . Let us submit the application by all. more
Really sad more
