MEDICINE FOR DIABETES Voglibose (0.2 mg)
Dear Friends I had written one comment mentioning one medicine which comes under many names like Voglibose, Vozuca Activ (0.2 Mg), Vogs 0.2mg etc but all these have aforesaid salt. This medicine is quite useful for all those who due to their work or life style can't take meals as prescribed by the doctors. MECHANISM OF ACTION OF THIS TABLET IS:-
Voligbose selectively inhibits ?-glucosidase in the enteric canal, delaying the digestion and absorption of carbohydrate, thereby suppressing sharp increase in post-prandial plasma glucose.
So if any of our member or his family member who is on tablets but finding the average sugar levels quite high can consult his doctor for the advice and if doctor agrees he can add this small tablet in his schedule and am sure this will help maintaining better sugar levels. All those who find controlling blood sugar a difficult exercise must try this with the permission of their physician. One must understand that all the tablets we use to reduce sugar have some side effects and same way this tablet too have few minor side effects similar to most of the Diabetic drugs. more

My wife used to take Volibo .3 with meals,it did help in controlling Sugar level,but it coused diarrhoea. As per Doctors advise she stopped taking this medicine,and the problem was over. more

After going through the side effects of all the medicines I have observed all of them have side effects. The most expansive best Diabetic medicine is Janumet 50/1000 that too have side effects. Before starting this medicine about 7-8 months back I too checked for the side effects and found the major side effects reported were "Abdominal distension, diarrhoea, pain, skin reactions, hypoglycemia." But I can say I have not noticed any of them in last 7-8 months. Actually I feel all the medicine related to diabetics if not taken properly can cause hypoglycemia. Other side effects can depend on the patient's body and health conditions. But my Doctor who is my very old friend advised me it's quite safe and that's why this medicine has not been ever banned in any European Country or US and all over the world doctor prescribe this. I don't know why in India Doctors are not using this medicine although it's quite helpful. More over I wont say you or someone start this medicine without consulting some good Qualified Physician. Rest your question is quite important and the answer can be searched on net. But best is the your physician who know what other medicine you are taking and if there is any interaction of this salt with other medicine. more

Yes i agree sir but i have heard that this medicine disturbs the function of liver also. It may be harmful for liver. if you know about please advise it is right or wrong information ? more
