Medical Education

It is premature to nationalise medical education in one go, it is like kerala govt banning all bars, without thinking and analising pros and cons. Certainly there can be check on black money.Do it in a slow process.
With checks and balances there can be modified admission rule.Look at USA and other western countries, there is as much rules and regulations as we have and they do ENFORCE IT.
Because our Govt hospitals are pathetically managed by the doctors and its staff which will be the fate of medical colleges as well.
Why not stop all reservations for management, governments and others.Allow more medical colleges to be started by leadin hospitals. Admit the deserving no matter his/her economic condition. More the controls more the corruption. What Morarji Desai did was tax 90% so that people can produce black money and once they are in ,no one can come out of it or any one can stop it. more

very true but are they really going to make any changes do you think in that it is totally wrong what I feel if they can do it it is better and most of them will welcome but all these colleges are belong to political big guns... Private players shall be allowed, and those who are incompetent shall die a natural death, as it has happened in TN Engineering colleges. But the problem is Doctors who come out of any Govt., or Private Medical college cannot be allowed to practice Medicine as many shall be below average. Entry should be more strict and Pre medical courses should be introduced to filter out those who do not really love the profession but do it out of vanity. more
medical education, unlike other branches are having far reaching consequances in the lives of people. therefore to be viewed differently. there should be no reservations based on cast/ creed- only reservations that can be had is based on merit vis-a-vis economic status. otherwise our dera lalu's daughter type doctors will be produced. it is so difficult to get entry for general category students for mbbs and it is nightmearish for p.g. entries and beyond. govt must address these problems with sympathy since a doctor is at the helm. at present getting entry at any level of medical education is not merit based but is a lottery !! more
The danger of nationalizing private colleges is making them just like govt, set ups. What is required is greater control over standards and quality of education through organizations like the Medical Council of India, which accords recognition to these colleges more
Mitra! In USA most education as other sectors are in PVT sector. There r rules and adherence. We need to b more adherent. Ur suggestion is feasible and practical. more
