Making Digital Health ID mandatory - Wrong move by Kerala

Kerala is forcing Aadhaar Linked Unique Health ID & its OTP Authentication for Hospital outpatient Registration online as per Health Minister Veena George. This is gross violation of Fundamental rights.

Sharing our health data via this id will lead to all kind of offers from hospitals, testing companies, diabetes management people and tens of others.

If Central Govt said it is optional how can kerala mandate it.

Very senior doctors told me there is no link between aadhar verification and patient's medical data at the hospital. Some of my friends have been to hospital multiple times with and not one has faced "offers" from anyone 2-3 years later. more
Sale of personal data by the government or other agencies in possession of sensitive information is absolutely incorrect. Open availability of data will lead to misuse and abuse of information. Thought behind a Medical ID is with a constructive purpose and not an open field for all kinds f marketing and sales actions. I would suggest that the Aadhaar ID itself be the medical ID and information available only by specific authorisation and consent of the account holder. more
The government needs to create separate ID( adhar linked- but cannot be seen except by central Government authorities) for 1.Health identity 2.Education needs 3.Sale of Agricultural products. 4.Travel 5.Transport.. That will make the availability of the Adhar details difficult for small holders more
I guess aadhar verification is only to ensure biometric authentication of the person. This will prevent malpractice. I don't find any thing wrong with this. more
This by itself will not lead to pesky calls from various brands of health providers. All hospitals, for some reason or the other require mobile numbers and most of the commercial people sell these numbers with as much details as they can. So, Aadhaar authentication alone will not make this happen. more
