Local shops sell expired packaged products

The fssai should start a structured program where state food dept inspectors go to local shops in their area and check expiry of packaged goods. If non compliant, the fine should be 50000+ And made an example of.

Many of the small shops commonly sell expired biscuits candies namkins chips and most people dont see when buying.

Will fssai act or like other issues keep quiet. Not hard to set a struxture and monitor through reports more

Expired products must be quarantined and should not be sold. more
The buyers and consumers bear the preliminary responsibility to ensure before consuming anything including medicines that those are not beyond of their expiry dates. Our people are ignorant in general and a majority thereof are unaware of the serious side affects that may cause on consuming such products. However, this does note dilute the responsibilities of the concerned of the respective government departments. more
All expire product should be destroyed in a controlled environment. It should not create another new problem. more
i agree with chander gupta. Due diligence while buying and also if a shop constantly sells expired products, people shall stop buying from there. most of the stores are small stores not very efficient in checking inventory. Still complaints made are adhered to and products replaced. Problem is at the company end which does not picks up the expired products from distributors. The distributors then try to dispose them off by giving heavy discounts to retailers who pass them on to consumers during festive rush sales or in parties and functions organized where consumer doesn't open the packaging himself/herself. increasing inspector raaj has never helped india. The companies are at guilt which push too much inventory which cannot be consumed in short period but inspectors fine small retailers who do not have mechanism to check each and every packaged food item expiry date. more
Are we not expectrd to do our due diligence at the time of buying more
