Loan Waiver Politics is the worst thing

CM of MP kamal nath waived farm loans today and attached is the sanction.

Couldnt set a worse example. It encourages farmers to line up at banks, by hook or crook, bribe or tribe get a loan sanctioned because they know the next election state or parliament some political party will get it waived off.

Ultimately its us the middle class who is foolish and made fool of. We pay tax deduction at source and fund these farmer loans that bloody fool politicians like this waive off.

Oh my India. What will u do the day middle class stops paying taxes. more

Now there is a wave of appeasement culture.Every body wants every thing free or concessional.Who will bear the cost? The already heavily burdened Tax Payers will have to bear the cost. Atleast now Govt should start tax on rich/super rich agriculturist. more
Not only in MP but in Chhattisgarh as well the new Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel immediately on assuming the office of the Chief Minister, he declared waiver of agricultural loans up to Rs.2 lakh costing the state exchequer of around Rs.7,000 crores, as per the election manifesto of the Congress Party, which was the key factor for their winning the election with thumping majority. It is surprising that our much appreciated Constitution didn't put any restrictions over the political parties in declaring their election manifesto to lure the voters by offering financial benefits, which directly affects the election results with immediate adverse affects over the state exchequers and national economy. Even the Election Commission or the Judiciary step in to stop the politicians from making such commitments which may directly or indirectly affect the election results as well as the impartial character of the election process. There must be an end to such generosity of the politicians, which is not only immoral but illegal as well, as the money involved belong to the tax payers and the middle class people are worst affected as they are supposed to meet all kind of tax liabilities as well as to fight with the inflationary affects due to the politicians' unwise acts showing uncalled for generosity with ulterior motives of getting undue advantage in elections. If our different institutions fail to put an end to such unethical acts of the politicians, it is the public, the tax payers who will have to come forward to record their protests in thunderous voice against such undemocratic acts of our politicians. more
This type of loan waiver policy is taking us backward, not forward-- 1. We are making people lazy and dependent 2. The problem is just being postponed for farmer, instead of solving it by technology, training and providing right information and marketing of produce 3. The development money of tax payer is used for freebies to get votes only 4. The country is being pulled backwards by wasting money of tax payers and development suffers Hope we can spread the knowledge and make people aware of such games of politicians JAGO BHARAT JAGO more
Taking loans and either having them waived off or just disappearing from site and sight seems to be the order. Though it has been prevailing since long but recently it has stared making the news because of the magnitude and volume of the loans being taken and not being paid back. Waiving off is not the answer and even the Ex RBI Governor has supported the same. It also need be seen that does the loan actually reach the farmers who are in need of ? What about the honest ones (I assume there are some !) who repay the loans ? Should he also stop repaying ? There need be some serious handshaking b/w Politics and hard core economic policies to stem this agricultural stagnation. This may not go down well with very many. S Sen more
Loan waiver is not the solution. Farmers have to be educated and trained. This process has to be taken to them. Spend effort time and money. more
