Leaking of client details
It is a matter of great concern that many agencies like Mobile companies leak client details and mobile nos. to others. I have seen upto 10 messages being received in my wife's mobile nos every day. It is a sure fact that these nos. are given to Dating Sites, and others engaged in nefarious activities. Indecent and vulgar messages are sent, enabling the mobile operators to earn through the sms charges, apart from fee per no. given. The TRAI is just looking on, without any corrective action, it is feared, while their member mobile phone cos. sell these information for a rupees per no. or so, throwing all personal information open for misuse/abuse.
The Ministry of Communications and others related to it should take steps to check unlawful leaking of vital data. It should be investigated against and culprits should be brought to book and bring this menace to its end.

Having no secrecy clause, the private service providers are free to share the information at a cost. Why the government is not coming out with certain restrictions.

It is worthwhile to mention here that I have heard of instances where people approach service providers to get the residential address of a mobile subscriber, through their friends or relatives working there. Sometimes they oblige and sometimes not, it depends on the integrity of the employee. From my experience, I believe Public Sector Banks can be trusted, but not private banks. Not to speak about co-operative banks. Only Finance Ministry/RBI, can control them. TRAI needs to regularly monitor the functioning of mobile companies to ensure that they adhere to secrecy rules as laid down.

strongly agree with the suggestion permitting "invalid" number facility to be abolished immdtly. The transperency is sacrificed by TRAI to such persons and are not concerned about it.
