Jio Cinema violating RBI norms

Not taking user permission and signing them up for 10 years straight. Recurring payment per new RBI norms require user consent each time so annually. more

I was using my credit card to pay my mobile bill, after RBI guideline bank used to pay it from bank account without interupption. Bank sends an sms 2-3 days prior to due date saying payment is due on ......date. if i donot take any action to stop, it gets paid from next month without any further consent. it implies that if one have given a consent for subscription of any service it will be treated as continue unless untill one explicitly breaks the cycle. There are certain loopholes in system through which TV operators are tricking subscribers since decads. They randomly call subscribers with a offer of one month free subscription of certain channels and take consent to activate the same. This becomes a paid channel from next monrh and amount gets deducted from your account regularly without any further consent. such things are treated as consent of subscriber and it will continue till subcrriber expires or there is no balance in account or account gets closed which are generally ticked as autopay by default. They have already taken your consent when you applied for first time (may it be free for first month). One have to be careful if a service is not required get it force closed immediately. more
any recurring payment permission need to be taken from the payee and need to be explicitly told to him as to what is he signing into more
I believe certain categories or registrations are exempted from user consent each time. For Example: Netflix subscription, Mutual fund houses and several Bill payment services are exempted. Correct me, If I am wrong. above mentioned examples are personally experienced by me. more
When we pay annual subscription to any channel or publisher the mandate for continues payme t of subscription is taken without your consent. The mandate is used for renewals payments. Un less we purposefully verify these messages from credit card or bank we do not know that we have given mandate. more
